A Family Guide To Berlin

Berlin is a family oriented city packed full of activities for all ages from young to old, from parks to playgrounds and zoos to museums a visit to Berlin is a winner on the families to-do list!

Berlin Zoo

Home to around 20'000 animals and 1'400 species making it Germany's oldest and largest zoo! The zoo attracts millions of visitors each year and is open 365 days making it a brilliant choice to visit on a Berlin getaway .Take the kid to visit their favorite animal, the petting zoo and the huge adventure playground or watch the hippos underwater from the panoramic window!

Ticket prices are from 15 Euros per adult and 8 Euros per child or 26 Euros for a small family and 41 Euros for a large family.

Legoland Discovery Centre

The Legoland Discovery Centre is located in the Sony Center at Potsdamer Platz and is suitable for all ages. Discover the ultimate indoor Lego playground with the whole family. Learn, build, discover, ride and be amazed by the fascinating Lego world.  Visit the newly built Ninjago City Adventure, before entering children can practice their Ninja moves in the training camp then enter the three tiered temple where they can climb and build to their heart's content! Meet the factory workers who spend all their hard work turning plastic into the little lego bricks in the Lego Factory Tour or check out Miniature Berlin built with over 2 million lego bricks in the Miniland!

Aquadom and Sealife

Located right in the heart of the city, nearby the Alexanderplatz and the Berlin Cathedral

Here your children can discover the magic of the underwater world with its incredible 30 aquarium tanks and more than 3000 animals.

Be sure to take the ride through the AquaDom: a freestanding, 25-meter high cylindrical aquarium with 1 million litres of salt water. The glass elevator will take you all the way to the top and through a tropical coral reef habitat with about 1,500 fish!

Tickets can be booked online and cost 13.60 Euros per person.

Berlin Dungeons

For the more adventurous, dare-devils in your family visit the Berlin dungeons situated in the heart of Berlin, between Hackeschen Markt and Alexander Platz. Explore the special effects, scenes and rides as you venture the walk through experience! 1 hour of hilarious sometimes scary fun!

Tiergarten

The Tiergarten is Berlin's biggest park and a great place for the kids to run wild on a sunny day in the city. Take a picnic, play ball games and visit Victory Column. Send the kids up the flight of 285 stairs leading you to the best view of the city. In this 600 acre park you will also find paddle boats, hidden bridges and beautiful walk through gardens. After a day here you will feel relaxed and the kids will be exhausted... plus it doesn't cost a penny!

Kollwitzplatz

Set in the family-friendly Prenzlauer Berg, visit here for some delicious ice-cream shops, kinder cafes (child friendly cafes) kid- oriented shops and the popular farmers market open on a Wednesday and Saturday morning. Another playground can also be found here. Berlin really focuses on children and their free play and adventure. It has a whopping 1850 playgrounds dotted around the Capital.

River Spree Boat Tour

When your kids are tired of walking around taking a boat tour is a great way of still experiencing the city and its historic landmarks. You can catch a bout tour at Museums Island in the middle of the Mitte District and costs 15 Euros for Adults and 7.50 Euros for children. German Museum for Technology

Located in Möckernbrücke with a real aeroplane sitting on top of the roof you can't miss it!

Discover German technology old and new offering an interactive experience for visitors.The museum hosts a large range of artefacts with exhibition topics including rail transport, industrial technology, maritime, aviation and much more. A great choice for a rainy day.
